At Waggoner, transforming communities is only part of our vision.  We also believe in bettering those communities in which we live and participate by giving back through volunteer efforts and sponsorships.

The latest project we were involved in, organized by Leadership Madison County, wrapped up earlier this week with the unveiling of a mural in the heart of Ridgeland at the corner of W. Jackson Street and N. Central Avenue.

Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer Veronica Porter was a member of the team that set up a Facebook page and coordinated a contest for the design.

“As a team, we first began tossing around ideas for our passion project and from the very beginning, we knew we wanted to do a project that would have a lasting impact in the community for many years to come,” Porter said.

Madison-Ridgeland Academy senior William Milam was chosen for his design and started working on it three months ago. The art vividly depicts the reservoir.

Porter was thankful to be one of the 25 members selected to be part of the group which nominates and selects new members every year.

“This is such a great group of professionals that really care about making Madison County a great place to work, live and raise a family,” she said. “I’m grateful for their commitment to being good stewards of the community and that they allowed me to take time from my day job to give back to the community in such a unique way.”
