Environmental

Most any land disturbing activity will, by definition, affect the surrounding environment. With more than three decades of perspective, Waggoner can help clients assess the likely impacts of proposed actions, and then identify, quantify and assess both positive and negative impacts. Whether it is assessing the environmental impact of a 1500-acre flood-control lake proposed in a river-bed environment, or preparing regulatory permit applications for a small private development — or anything in between — the Waggoner team is well-equipped to help clients handle any challenge.

Mississippi Gulf Region Water and Wastewater Plan NEPA

Waggoner Engineering, Inc. has extensive experience with conducting and reviewing Environmental Assessments in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and 24 CFR Part 58. Waggoner was the lead firm among three principal firms that assisted MDEQ with the development of the Mississippi Gulf Region Water and Wastewater Plan. The objective of the Plan is to identify the most critical water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure needs within the Gulf Region and to prioritize those needs within the framework of an implementation plan for allocation of $640 million in Community Development Block Grant Funds. This “Plan” identifies approximately 67 water and wastewater projects across the five coastal counties of Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Pearl River, and Stone.

LeFleur Lakes Feasibility Study Jackson, Mississippi

Waggoner Engineering is currently leading a team of six consultants in a major project to control flooding in the Jackson metro area. This unique approach to flood control involves the creation of two large lakes, instead of the traditional levee system which separates people from natural resources. In addition to flood control, the lakes would also provide recreational and economic development opportunity for citizens of the Jackson metropolitan area. The upper lake would be approximately 4,300 acres and the lower lake would be approximately 500 acres.
