JACKSON, Miss. — August 13, 2015 –Waggoner Engineering, a full-service economic development, project management and engineering firm headquartered in Jackson, Miss., has added Katie Bryant as a new graduate engineer in the firm’s water resources department. In this role, Bryant will focus primarily on FEMA flood mapping projects, hydraulic studies for bridge replacement projects and other drainage-related projects and studies.

“Katie has great promise as an engineer, especially in water resources,” said Joe Waggoner, PE, Founder and CEO of Waggoner Engineering. “We are excited to welcome her to the Waggoner team as we continue to grow as a company.”

A Jackson-area native, Bryant graduated with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Mississippi State University last May. While a student, she served as a mentor for first year engineers and as captain of Mississippi State’s concrete canoe team, which participated at the national competition at Clemson, South Carolina in June. She spent two weeks last summer in Zambia as part of the Engineers Without Borders project, installing hand-pump water wells and assessing future drill sites.
