Waggoner Engineering, a full-service economic development, program management and engineering firm, has added Jennifer Sloan Ziegler as an engineering intern in the firm’s water resources and coastal programs department.

Ziegler will lend her water resources and coastal restoration research experience in the Gulf of Mexico region, combined with her environmental and public policy expertise, to serve Waggoner’s state and local agency clients on environment and infrastructure programs and projects.

“Jennifer’s stand-out educational foundation already sets her apart and shows her commitment to the industry,” said Hunter Arnold, PE, senior director of water resources and coastal programs. “We’re especially pleased that she has such practical experience in coastal restoration – one of the firm’s key service offerings.”

Ziegler’s previous experience includes serving as a lecturer for the Aerospace Engineering Department at Mississippi State University. She was a Knauss Marine Policy Legislative Fellow for Senator Maria Cantwell representing the Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium. Zeigler most recently was a civil engineer for the United States Army Corps of Engineers. She received both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in civil and environmental engineering and a doctorate of philosophy in engineering, with a concentration in civil engineering from Mississippi State University.
