What’s in your coffee/tea? Black coffee unless it is fall when I occasionally get a Pumpkin Spice Latte.
What made you decide to join Waggoner Engineering? I decided to work at Waggoner because they were ready to give me an opportunity to excel in the civil engineering field as a project manager. I knew once I met with Waggoner’s President, Emad Al-Turk, that I wanted to work for this company because of his vision for the future to rebuild Waggoner on a strong foundation. Waggoner has developed a team atmosphere and a great culture at the office, striving for technical excellence. It is nice to be acknowledged for your talents, dedication, and hard work from management.
What project has had the most significant impact on your career? Assisting the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority with project management services has provided the biggest impact on my career because it has allowed me to learn about so many things that are required to maintain and advance an airport. It has been a great opportunity to learn the services that civil engineers provide to an airport, and what goes on behind the scenes to ensure that the Jackson Metro Area has a safe and enjoyable connection to the rest of the country. I have benefited from being able to work without of state consultants with superior airport expertise to grow our knowledge here in Mississippi. I also enjoy working with the JMAA staff that are working hard behind the scenes.
If you were not an engineer, what would you be doing? Open my own garden center because I love to be outdoors, and I love watching something grow under the right conditions. I worked at a garden center throughout high school and college, and I still love gardening.
What’s your secret talent? I am incredibly clumsy, but I love to do anything athletic from snow skiing, wakeboarding, to volleyball – without injuring myself or others. In school, I had to work harder than others that were more athletically inclined to perform as part of a team or to pick up a skill, but I am definitely a hard worker and persistent when I put my mind to something.
