Ribbon Cutting held for Lake Harbour Drive Extension

RIDGELAND, Miss. – The $28 million Lake Harbour Extension officially opened following a ribbon-cutting this morning. The city’s new addition will serve as a multi-lane boulevard transportation facility connecting U.S. Highway 51 to Highland Colony Parkway.

“After 20 years of labor and some blood, sweat, and tears, Lake Harbour Drive provides a major east-west corridor through the city of Ridgeland, connecting Madison and Rankin Counties and traversing significant physical barriers which include Interstate 55 and the Canadian National Railroad,” Ridgeland Mayor Gene McGee said.

Work officially got underway last year to tackle the 18-month project in two phases – Phase A, a box culvert under the railroad that runs along U.S. Highway 51, and Phase B, the roadway, and bridge construction.

Waggoner provided route location and environmental assessment services to the City of Ridgeland. Following the NEPA process, Waggoner’s services included conceptual design alternatives and environmental studies.
