JACKSON, Miss. – March 23, 2021 – Waggoner Engineering, Inc., is pleased to announce that Thomas McElroy has joined the company and will serve as a project manager in the firm’s Jackson office, assisting clients in the economic development sector.
“Thomas has been a long-standing friend of Waggoner, and we are delighted to have him become a part of our work family,” said Area Manager Zach Adams. “His insight and experience will further develop the level of service we offer our clients.”
McElroy has nearly 20 years of experience working for Mississippi with a keen understanding of the industry recruitment and retention process to improve its forestry and energy sectors. Since 2018, he successfully located 17 new industries to the state, injecting $1 billion in new capital and creating 1,700 new careers for Mississippians.
He previously worked as a project manager with the Mississippi Development Authority recruiting the forestry and energy industries internationally to invest and create jobs in the state. Before that, he was the Director of Appointments and Policy Advisor under former Governor Phil Bryant.
McElroy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Mississippi State University and is a member of the Mississippi Economic Development Council and the Mississippi Mineral Resource Institute’s advisory board.
