JACKSON, Miss. – June 3, 2021 – Robert Hooks has been promoted to Manager of Remote Survey Services, the firm announced today.

In his new role, Hooks will be responsible for developing and growing Waggoner’s drone-related capability and resources, planning and executing flights for data acquisition, processing data, and supporting end-users in planning, design, and construction phase applications.

“Waggoner has made a strategic investment in small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS, “drone”) technology to expand our capabilities for remote data acquisition and surveying. This is in keeping with our commitment to technical excellence and continuous improvement,” said Bill McDonald, Chief Technical Officer.

Hooks has almost 20 years of experience in the engineering design and surveying field. He joined the Waggoner team in 2002 and has been involved in many different types of transportation-related projects, which required design surveys, boundary and right-of-way surveys, construction, and GPS control surveys.

Hooks holds a Bachelor of Science in Drafting & Design/Engineering Technology from Grambling State University.
