Waggoner Engineering is seeking qualified Project Engineer (Civil) to join our Jackson, MS team to provide quality planning, design and technical assistance to Discipline Manager and other members of
To be considered for this position you should have the following skills and education:
Planning and designing civil works projects, including site development and earthwork, streets and pavements, drainage and stormwater management, and utility infrastructure.
Maintaining and documenting written and verbal communications with clients throughout the development and completion of a project.
Monitoring team members’ progress and advising team members of schedules and deadlines.
Reviewing schedules and budgets relative to project progress and completion.
Conducting project status review checking accuracy of work completed and monitors timeliness of project completion.
Attending meetings on project management.
Assisting Project Managers with any administrative duties concerning completion of
Assisting Project Manager in preparation of engineering studies and reports.
Providing technical guidance and training to members of the project team.
Preparing project design using sound engineering principles, engineering software and tools.
Assisting in preparation of contract documents and technical specifications.
Assist Project Manager in assuring quality control procedures are performed.
Responsible for the accuracy of each segment of the work and the final check of the work.
Responsible for adherence to all applicable codes.
Provides leadership, guidance, and mentoring to engineering staff.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and must have Professional Engineer license.
Six to seven years of related experience, three-four years project related experience and knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations required. One to two years coordination/supervisory experience preferred.
Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Mississippi required. Certifications applicable to civil engineering, site design and drainage desired (e.g. CPESC, CFM).
Other Knowledge and Skills
Proficient in design using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Advanced knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project required. Knowledge of design, on-line reports and databases preferred. Knowledge and ability to use (or learn) Deltek Financial and Project Management system is required. Superior communication skills and in-depth knowledge of company products and operations.
