Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is hiring a licensed Professional Engineer for our new office in Meridian, MS. The incumbent should have three (3) or more years of relevant years of experience to provide quality planning, designing, and technical overview to assist the Discipline Manager/Client Account Manager in delivering projects within budgetary and time constraints. Additionally, the selected candidate will provide design and engineering assistance to other project team members.

  • Maintains and documents communication with clients through letters and telephone throughout the development and completion of a project.

  • Monitors team members’ progress and advises team members of schedules and deadlines.

  • Reviews schedules and budgets relative to project progress and completion.

  • Conducts project status review checking accuracy of work completed and monitors timeliness of project completion.

  • Attends meetings on project management.

  • Assists Project Managers with any administrative duties concerning the completion of the assigned project.

  • Maintains project file.

  • Assists Project Manager in preparation of engineering studies and reports.

  • Provide technical guidance and training to members of the project team.

  • Provide project design using sound engineering principles, engineering software, and AutoCADD.

  • Assists in the preparation of contract documents and technical specifications.

  • Assists Project Manager in assuring quality control procedures are performed.

  • Assist in the preparation of project drawings.

  • Performs necessary code research.

  • Responsible for the accuracy of each segment of the work and the final check of the work.

  • Responsible for adherence to all applicable codes.

  • Provides leadership, guidance, and mentoring to engineering staff.


Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and must have a Professional Engineer license.


Three or more years of project-related experience and knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations required. Three or more years of direct client interaction in designated market and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations required.


Certifications or registrations as mandated by profession. Professional registration/certification desired.


Advanced knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project required. Knowledge of design, on-line reports, and databases preferred. Superior communication skills and in-depth knowledge of company products and operations.
