DeSoto County Regional Utility Authority (DCURA)
Water & Wastewater
DeSoto County, Mississippi
DeSoto County partnered with Waggoner in 1998 to begin a strategic program that began with master planning for a consolidated county-wide wastewater system. Since that time, Waggoner has assisted the DeSoto County Regional Utility Authority (DCRUA) with
legislative support for formation of a regional utility authority, federal and state funding assistance, facilities planning, NEPA compliance and permitting, engineering design, right-of-way surveys, and construction administration and review.
DCRUA has raised to date
To date, DCRUA has raised over $125 million through a combination of local, state and federal funding sources, which has resulted in the implementation of two new regional wastewater treatment facilities and miles of sewer interceptor pipelines, force mains and pumping stations, serving the municipalities of Southaven, Olive Branch, Hernando, Horn Lake, and Walls. Waggoner continues to provide planning, design, construction administration, and strategic support services on behalf of DCRUA.
