Watershed-Based Stormwater Management Program Development
Rankin County, Mississippi
Due to its relatively flat terrain, the expeditious residential and commercial development over the past decade, and the abundance of streams and rivers along with numerous watersheds that drain into the Ross Barnett Reservoir, Rankin County is faced with increasing challenges and difficulties for managing its stormwater infrastructure.
About the Program
Waggoner worked with the County to develop a Comprehensive Watershed-Based Stormwater Management Program. The Program identifies the most innovative and efficient best practices needed to assess, quantify, and identify short and long term priorities. The Program also includes an evaluation of existing ordinances and policies, a floodplain encroachment analysis, and the development of funding and implementation strategies.
